Clinical Nursing at Home · Cairns & FNQ

Hospital-grade nursing,
in your own home.

Senior nurses delivering clinical care at home under your doctor’s orders. This page covers the core clinical services we provide across Cairns and Far North Queensland.

IV antibiotics at home

Many IV antibiotic courses don’t need a hospital bed, they need a competent nurse. We administer intravenous antibiotics at home, monitor the line and your response at every visit, and report back to the prescribing doctor.

Delivered under medical orders and the prescriber’s treatment plan

Catheter care

Insertion support, routine changes, troubleshooting and the clinical monitoring that prevents small catheter problems becoming emergency department visits. Delivered with dignity, by nurses who do this work every week.

In line with the treating doctor’s plan and current clinical guidelines

Tracheostomy care

Tracheostomy care at home requires specific training, currency and calm. Our senior nurses provide routine tracheostomy management and support families to live confidently around it.

Delivered under medical orders by nurses trained and current in tracheostomy care

Palliative clinical support

When someone chooses to be at home, the clinical work shouldn’t fall on the family. We provide nursing support alongside the palliative care team and GP: symptom-related nursing care, medication support and a steady clinical presence, so families can simply be family.

Working alongside the patient’s palliative care team and GP, never instead of them

Chronic disease monitoring

Heart failure, diabetes, respiratory disease and other long-term conditions rarely deteriorate overnight. They drift. Regular clinical monitoring at home picks up the drift early, and our reports give your GP something concrete to act on.

Monitoring and reporting in partnership with the patient’s GP

Medication support

Complex regimes, injections, changes after a hospital stay and the question every family asks: is this actually working? Nurse-supported medication administration and review, in line with the prescriber’s plan, with concerns raised to the GP early.

Administration and support strictly in line with the prescribing doctor’s orders

Private clients

You don’t need to wait for a referral to get clinical care.

Families engage CareLink privately every week: for a parent recovering from surgery, a relative with a wound that isn’t improving, or simply for qualified clinical eyes on someone they worry about. We assess, we agree the plan and the fees before care begins, and we keep your GP informed throughout.
