Complex Wound Care · Cairns & FNQ

Wounds that need more than a dressing change.

Assessment-led wound management at home by senior nurses, with photographic documentation and progress reporting that gives your GP something measurable to work with.

Our approach

Every wound starts with an assessment, not a dressing.

A wound that isn’t improving usually has a reason: circulation, pressure, infection, nutrition, the dressing regime itself. Our senior nurses assess the whole picture, document it properly, and manage the wound under the direction of your GP or specialist. What we don’t do is keep applying the same dressing to a wound that’s telling us something.

What we manage
  • Post-surgical wounds and delayed healing
  • Chronic and slow-healing wounds
  • Venous and arterial leg ulcers, under medical direction
  • Pressure injuries and prevention planning
  • Complex and multi-layer dressing regimes
  • Wounds requiring formal photographic documentation
What a visit looks like

Methodical, documented, reported.

1
Assess

Wound measurement, tissue assessment, surrounding skin, pain and the factors slowing healing.

2
Document

Photographic documentation and structured notes at every visit, so progress is measured, not guessed.

3
Manage

Dressing and wound management delivered under your doctor’s direction, adjusted as the wound responds.

4
Report

Progress summaries and imaging to your GP or specialist, with anything concerning escalated immediately.

For referrers. Wound referrals are welcome from GPs, hospitals and specialists. Send current management notes and any recent imaging with the referral, and tell us how often you want progress reports.

Get measurable progress on the record.
